Privacy Policy
Last updated: November 28, 2025
Tiddle is proudly built by a small business — not big tech. We rely on the trust of other small businesses, so we treat your data with the same care we’d expect for our own. This page explains what we collect, why we collect it, and how we keep it safe.
1. What this covers
This Privacy Policy applies to Tiddle’s website, Reply Assistant, and any associated features. If you’re here because you care about privacy — we do too. This policy is meant to be clear, honest, and easy to understand.
2. What information we collect
We collect only what is needed to provide the service. This includes:
- Account details: Your name, email, business name, and the settings you choose.
- Email data needed to generate replies: When you view a thread inside Tiddle, we access message subject, content, sender/recipient, and timestamps so the Reply Assistant can understand the conversation and suggest a response.
- Message state data: After you send an email using Tiddle, we may mark the original message as read and optionally apply a Gmail label that you have configured (for example, “Replied with Tiddle”) so you can track what has been handled and avoid duplicate replies.
- Usage information: Basic analytics (such as feature usage and performance metrics) to help us improve reliability and usability.
3. How we use your information
- To generate high-quality reply suggestions using the full conversation.
- To calculate helpful metrics like time saved, message patterns, and workload insights.
- To keep the service secure and running smoothly.
- To improve the product based on real small-business usage.
Most importantly: we do not sell, rent, or monetize your data. We do not use your email content for advertising, we do not build marketing profiles, and we do not use your private email data to train general-purpose AI models. Tiddle only uses your information to provide the features you actively use.
4. How Tiddle uses Gmail data
If you connect your Gmail account, Tiddle uses Gmail data only to support the Reply Assistant features you choose to use.
- Read message content and metadata to generate summaries and reply suggestions.
- Send email only when you explicitly click Send in Tiddle.
- Mark a message as read after sending to help prevent duplicate replies.
- Optionally apply a Gmail label that you have created to indicate a message was handled using Tiddle.
Tiddle does not create Gmail drafts, move messages, archive messages, delete messages, or modify your inbox structure. All sending actions require direct user confirmation.
5. Who can see your data
Short answer: very few people.
Access is limited to automated systems that process your messages and, when absolutely necessary, to members of our small team responding to a support request you initiate. We do not review inbox content for any other purpose.
We do not share your private email data with advertisers, data brokers, or other third parties.
6. How we protect your data
- Secure OAuth sign-in for Gmail and Outlook (we never see your password).
- Encrypted storage for anything we retain.
- Strict org-scoped access controls.
- No auto-sending. You approve everything.
- Short-lived processing of message content; we do not store full email bodies long-term.
- Use of data strictly follows Google API Services User Data Policy requirements.
7. Your choices
You can disconnect your email provider anytime. You can request deletion of your account and data. If you’re unsure about anything, we’re happy to help explain how things work.
If you connect your Gmail account, you may revoke Gmail access at any time directly from your Google Account security settings.
